Recognition for Reproflex3 as ‘UK export champion’

Reproflex3 has been recognised as a Northern Powerhouse Export Champion by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) following its continued expansion and investment within the flexible packaging industry globally.
As a UK Export Champion, the company will offer practical advice to other businesses in the Northern Powerhouse region who also wish to expand overseas.
The Export Champion community is designed to help UK businesses think in global terms and contributes to one of the Prime Minister’s priorities to grow the UK economy by promoting the benefits of exporting.
Reproflex3 is an international prepress packaging and flexographic solutions agency. Its services and products relate to every touchpoint in the packaging development journey, from design to final print production.
The company works closely with commercial printers, converters, FMCG brands and pharmaceutical firms to deliver market-leading flexible packaging, corrugated packaging and labels for a diverse range of consumer and pharmaceutical products.
Entrepreneurs Andrew Hewitson and Trevor Lowes established the business in 1996. Today the company operate sites in the UK, Dubai, India and New Zealand and deploys its flexographic print technologies through technical partnerships in the USA and mainland Europe through its Global Partnership Network.
The business employs more than eighty prepress specialists world-wide, delivering its services and international award-winning flexographic screening technologies into more than twenty countries.
Andrew Hewitson, group CEO at Reproflex3, said: “We are delighted to be selected as a DBT Northen Powerhouse Export Champion.
“Before we made our first international investment, which was setting up a new plate manufacturing facility and artwork studio in Dubai to serve the Middle East and Asia Pacific region, we worked closely with our International Trade Adviser (ITA) within the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), which helped us to do our homework and conduct thorough research.
“It is an honour to be able to share our experience in international trade with other ambitious and entrepreneurial-minded businesses seeking to enter new markets or export for the first time.”
There is currently around 400 volunteer Export Champions active across the UK representing SMEs from a diverse range of sectors and helping the Secretary of State’s aim to achieve £1 trillion exports by 2030.
Export Champions are selected volunteers who have been appointed based on their experience and success in exporting. They give their time freely to encourage and inspire more UK businesses to trade internationally.
